  1. Short:    Lots of stuff to make XDME excel

  6. XDME Excelsior Suite v1.30 - A suite of macros, menus, and ARexx scripts
  7. for XDME. Features include: spell checking, outlining, localized major
  8. modes, automatic mode selection upon loading, various Emacs-like
  9. keymappings, region and rectangle editing a la Emacs, xpk support, diary
  10. maintenance, pagination, various GTB requesters, other requesters, and many
  11. other features. XES is a new name for XDMD.

  13. Here are the latest features:

  15.       IV.   17 November 1994 - XES v1.25
  16.  
  17.            A.   An asynchronous gadtools find and replace requester.
  18.  
  19.            B.   More Emacs and Quasi-Emacs keymappings.
  20.  
  21.                1.   Registers sort of like in Emacs.
  22.  
  23.                2.   Many keymappings converted to equivalent in Emacs.  For
  24.                     example, "Save As" is now mapped to c-x c-w instead of
  25.                     to f9.
  26.  
  27.                3.   C-q works like it does in Emacs.  After pressing c-q,
  28.                     you can type any character.  C-x k is now the key
  29.                     combination for closing a window.
  30.  
  31.                4.   The case conversion macros now work like the equivalent
  32.                     in Emacs, and they have the same keymappings.
  33.  
  34.                5.   Major modes can easily be chosen with a c-x m <key>
  35.                     combination.
  36.  
  37.                6.   Rectangle operations now have the same keymappings as
  38.                     they have in Emacs.  Those which have no keymappings in
  39.                     Emacs are also mapped to a c-x r <key> combination.

  41.            C.   #?.xsrc files for each file saved.  These are files that
  42.                 XDME sources for an individual file after it loads it.

  44.            D.   The right and left Amiga keys are recognized as different.
  45.  
  46.            E.   Clipfiles.
  47.  
  48.            F.   The AppIcon can be turned on and off from the Settings
  49.                 menu.
  50.  
  51.            G.   Automatic recognition of files encrypted with
  52.                 xpkIDEA.library or with xpkFEAL.library.

  54.        V.   6 December 1994 - XES v1.30
  55.  
  56.            A.   More GadToolsBox requesters: Pens, Print, Margins, and
  57.                 Windows. The Windows requester replaces the Windows menu.
  58.  
  59.            B.   A new "block-type?" macro.  This one reads $block and even
  60.                 tells whether there is a block.  Editing commands no longer
  61.                 require the cursor to be in the block to recognize that
  62.                 there is a block.
  63.  
  64.            C.   Paginate updated.  The new version indents the text body at
  65.                 the same column as it does the footers and headers.  I have
  66.                 not updated the documentation for it.
  67.  
  68.            D.   Shortlines added to Settings menu.  This is like my
  69.                 Smartkeys mode, but it is currently exhibiting some
  70.                 unwanted behavior.  So I put Smartkeys back in.
  71.  
  72.            E.   "#?.xsrc" files are no longer saved for each file saved.
